Champlin’s 2015 Economic Growth and Business Development

1)  The Reserve at Elm Creek (Gonyea Development)–Construction is under way on this 111-lot upscale single family residential neighborhood. Model homes are under construction for the Spring Parade of Homes.
2) The Cedars of Elm Creek (Summit Development and Medici Homes)–This 39-lot development includes five single family homes and 34 detached townhomes.
3)  Applewood Pointe (United Properties) – This 70-unit senior cooperative is adjacent to the Mississippi River and will be open next summer.
4)  South Pond Center (TOLD Development)–Redevelopment of the former BP Gas Station is complete. The project includes two 6,000 square foot multi-tenant retail buildings with notable tenants Chipotle, Starbucks, Pacific Dental, Sports Clips, AT&T, and Leann Chin.
5)  Egan Companies– Egan Companies purchased the 188,000 square foot former Pentair building and plans to consolidate three of their existing facilities bringing in 185 employees. Opening is set for April 2016.
6  Elm Creek Dam Reconstruction–Construction of the $5 million dam and spillway will be completed May 2016.
7)  Allina Medical Clinic–Allina’s new 25,000 square foot medical clinic is open for business.
8)  Lil Newton’s Nest–The former Champlin Elementary is now occupied by Lil Newton’s Nest, an early childhood education center. Lil Newton is now accepting enrollment.
9)  Mississippi Crossings–The City is reviewing plans for a mid-rise apartment community and restaurant. DTZ is marketing the site.
10)  Mill Pond Gables–The City recently sold the 48-unit senior apartment building to Avinity Homes. The sale allows the City to reinvest the proceeds in other housing projects.
11)  Senior Housing (Dominium )– Plans are being considered for a 180 unit affordable senior apartment building on a five -acre site located south of the City’s water tower.
